A Hotel with history
– Its privileged location is perfect to start exploring all the history, culture, architecture, shops and restaurants of this cosmopolitan city.
The origin of this historic building dates back to 1526, being the residence of Rodrigo de Albornoz, Contador Real. In 1895 it was bought by the Frenchman Sebastian Robert to turn it into the first commercial center in Mexico, counting on the best services of his time and two of the first elevators in the country, which still work today. After almost a decade of falling into oblivion, he returned to life in 1968 as the Gran Hotel Mexico City. Since then, its rooms have hosted great personalities, being the favorite choice of sophisticated travelers and appearing in national and international films, advertising campaigns and series.
